The attention to service really stands out—I was seated quickly both times, and the staff made the whole experience smooth and welcoming.Even though it’s in Beacon Hill, where space is usually tight, the restaurant feels open and comfortable (with outdoor seating available as well). The menus are extensive, both for food and drinks, which makes it fun to try a variety of flavors.I highly recommend sampling a few pintxos— Caña de Cabra (goat cheese with marcona almonds on a baguette), pan con tomate, and Gildas are all fantastic. The special of the night, lamb chuletas, was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Tapas like the tortilla española, pulpo plancha, gambas plancha, and the hamburguesa Donostia were also highlights.The prices are elevated, compared to what you’d find in Basque Country, but this is Boston, after all.Zurito works equally well as a lively group spot or a cozy date night destination. A welcome addition to the neighborhood and one I’ll definitely return to.

They guided us through a menu full of authentic Basque dishes with genuine enthusiasm and care. The wine list is truly impressive, and every dish we tried was delicious. It’s clear how thoughtfully both the food and wine menus were curated, with a deep respect for tradition and quality. The hospitality of the staff made the entire evening feel special. Highly recommend!
July 18 · G. HaurayThe tables were quite close to each other, but the ambiance was nice. We ordered the stuffed pepper, which was good — not amazing, but we enjoyed it. The caña de cabra had a very strong cheese flavor, which I loved. The calabaza was quite nice, and the patatas bravas were nothing special — just simple fried potatoes, in my opinion. The pulpo a la plancha was interesting and worth trying if you like octopus. I didn’t like the chickpea and chorizo stew at all; the chorizo flavor was too strong for me. Overall, every plate we tried was good, but nothing was truly outstanding. I also think the drinks and some dishes were overpriced.

In this case, it was my mother — a woman with enough Boston restaurant mileage to make most sommeliers weep — and we had come to Zurrito on Charles Street to test its promises of Basque pintxos bliss.Now, Charles Street is already stuffed with eateries waving menus at you like eager prom dates, but Zurrito doesn’t shout. It murmurs. Step inside and the first thing you notice is the atmosphere: a certain hum, a rightness, as if the tables themselves are in on a secret you’re about to be told. It’s polished but unfussy, like your cool cousin who wears linen shirts unironically.The staff? Blessedly competent — that rarest of breeds — and disarmingly knowledgeable without ever once using the phrase “elevated dining experience” (thank the gods). They suggested dishes not just with enthusiasm but with tactical cunning, steering us through the small plates as if assembling a symphony: lighter here, richer there, a foie gras crescendo to finish.Speaking of which: the foie gras was the kind of thing that makes you question your own morals, served perfectly warm and quivering, like it had just been whispered into existence. The asparges — thick, proud spears — were treated with such reverence that I half-expected a priest to bless them before they hit the table. And the star of the evening, the speciality Iberico pork, was a reminder that not all pigs are created equal: tender, deep, and nutty, as if the pig had spent its life doing yoga and eating acorns while listening to Miles Davis.There are moments when a bite of food can bring you back to somewhere else entirely.
