Columbia Restaurant - Celebration Introduce
The **Columbia Restaurant** in **Celebration, Florida**, offers locals and visitors to the greater Orlando area a unique and deeply rooted piece of Florida’s culinary history. Recognized as a sister to Florida's Oldest Restaurant℠ (founded in Ybor City, Tampa, in 1905), the Celebration location maintains the family’s tradition of serving award-winning, authentic **Spanish and Cuban cuisine**. The experience here is more than just a meal; it's a step into an elegant Mediterranean-style setting, filled with the warmth of old-world charm and the vibrancy of Latin culture.
The establishment is a beloved local gem, perfectly blending the roles of a Spanish restaurant, a Cuban restaurant, and a versatile event venue. This long-standing family-owned operation is renowned for preserving century-old family recipes while offering a refined, yet casual, dining atmosphere. Whether you are looking for a place for a special romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a sophisticated corporate event, Columbia Restaurant offers a memorable backdrop.
The menu is a rich tapestry of flavors from both Spain and Cuba. Diners consistently rave about the signature dishes that have stood the test of time. One of the absolute must-try items is the **Columbia's Original “1905” Salad®**. This legendary dish, prepared tableside, is a delicious mix of crisp iceberg lettuce, julienne baked ham, Swiss cheese, tomato, olives, grated Romano cheese, and the famous garlic dressing—a 100-year-old family recipe featuring fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar, and Spanish extra-virgin olive oil. This salad alone is often cited as a highlight and a reason to visit.
Beyond the salad, the menu showcases a wealth of authentic options. You can start with a traditional Spanish **Tapa**, such as **Gambas “Al Ajillo”** (large shrimp sautéed in Spanish olive oil and garlic), flavorful **Empanadas De Picadillo** (pastry turnovers filled with spiced ground beef), or the famous **Spanish Bean Soup**—the original recipe of founder Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. For heartier appetites, main courses include family recipes like **Paella “A la Valenciana,”** a traditional dish prepared in a paella pan with clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, grouper, chicken, and pork with yellow rice. Other favorites include the classic **Roast Pork “A la Cubana,”** the **Original Cuban Sandwich** layered with ham, roast pork, salami, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on Cuban bread, and a selection of fresh seafood and steaks.
The bar menu is equally impressive, supporting the restaurant's reputation as a top-tier **Bar**. It boasts a **Great wine list** featuring fine Spanish wines, as well as an extensive selection of **Beer**, **Cocktails**, and **Hard liquor**. Guests often indulge in a pitcher of their famous Sangria or Mojitos. They also pride themselves on their coffee, serving up a **Great coffee** experience with specialty Cuban and Spanish coffees, and offer a dedicated **Dessert** menu with house specialties like **White Chocolate Bread Pudding** (best for sharing) and the classic **Flan**.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great experience with classic Spanish flavors 🇪🇸✨ The stuffed shrimp was excellent — flavorful and perfectly cooked. For dessert, the white chocolate bread pudding was delicious but very sweet, so definitely best to share between 3–4 people. The atmosphere is warm and traditional, making it a nice spot for a relaxing dinner
September 21 · Tatsiana TsiushkevichColumbia Restaurant in Celebration is worth visiting for their famous 1905 Salad - fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the menu. The rest of the dishes felt a bit too heavy for my taste, but the atmosphere makes up for it. The outdoor seating is beautiful, with a great view overlooking the lake, which really adds to the experience.Perfect spot if you’re looking for classic vibes and a relaxing setting.
August 20 · H WangThe food was good. The signature salad was amazing. My biggest concern was that they put us in a tiny on the corner booth that had metal purse hooks underneath. If I was an inch taller I would have injured my knees. Totally surprised they put people here. It’s a safety hazard that should be addressed. Our server basically dismissed it when I told her about it. I had the 1905 salad and stuffed shrimp which was really good. Just could not eat it all after eating the black bean soup. Lived in St Pete years ago and I remember going to the location there
July 22 · V NesbittLocation was great and outdoor seating was nice to have! Food was exceptional, and service was at an even higher standard. Ricky our waiter was very attentive and answered any questions we had along with some killer recommendations that were excellent! Would recommend to anyone visiting the celebration/Disney area of you want a change of pace from American fare.
July 12 · Mike CDining at The Columbia Restaurant was an experience that blended tradition, flavor, and impeccable service from start to finish. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere transported us into a warm, inviting space filled with the aromas of authentic Colombian cuisine. Each guest was greeted with a personal serving of their signature Colombian bread, soft, warm, and subtly sweet, the perfect start to the meal. It set the tone for the culinary excellence that followed. We began with the calamari appetizer, which was lightly breaded and perfectly fried, maintaining a delicate crispiness without losing the tenderness of the squid inside. Served with a flavorful dipping sauce, it disappeared quickly from our table. Alongside, we sampled the empanadas, and these were a revelation, freshly made, golden on the outside, and packed with well-seasoned fillings that tasted as if they came straight from a Colombian street vendor. The freshness was undeniable and made them one of the highlights of the night. For the main course, we indulged in a variety of dishes that showcased the restaurant’s mastery of both traditional flavors and expert cooking techniques. The steak and shrimp combination was a standout, each bite of steak was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, while the shrimp were plump and flavorful, with a light char that added depth. Accompanying the dish was yellow rice, cooked to perfection with just the right texture and a gentle, aromatic seasoning that paired beautifully with every bite. The salmon entrée was something truly special. Prepared in a traditional Colombian style, it offered a unique blend of flavors and textures that stood apart from more common preparations. Moist and flaky inside with a subtle crust on the outside, it was clear this was a chef’s specialty, simple in presentation yet rich in character.Beyond the food, the service was nothing short of phenomenal. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, offering thoughtful recommendations, keeping drinks refilled, and ensuring that every guest felt cared for. The pacing of the meal was perfect, allowing us to savor each course without feeling rushed.Overall, The Columbia Restaurant delivered a dining experience that was both authentic and memorable. From the freshly baked bread to the final bite of salmon, every detail was executed with care. If you’re seeking a place where Colombian tradition meets outstanding hospitality, this is a must-visit.
