BCN Taste & Tradition Reviews
I realized they don’t respond to reviews, but I’ll still share my experience from last night dinner, which gave me plenty to talk about.First of all, Juan and his team did an incredible job taking care of our table while we celebrated my youngest daughter’s birthday.Truly excellent service, thank you again Juan.On the food side:-Patatas bravas felt more like baked mashed potatoes than authentic bravas.-Beef tartare was full of flavor, and my wife’s favorite appetizer.-Pulpo a la gallega was very good served over a bed of mashed potatoes.-Jamon iberico just jamon iberico.-Croquettes never made it to the table.-gambas al ajillo, had a tasty flavor but using skinless shrimp, they lacked depth of flavor.-fisherman soup was the biggest disappointment, no taste of the langostinos or fish, plenty of croutons and a piece of sautéed fish meat.-pig a la segoviana came with a strong gamey flavor that’s why we left some in the plate.-on the brighter side, the grilled branzino was just EXCELLENT served with veggies and again some sautéed mashed potatoes I’ll definitely order it again next time.Desserts were also a highlight: crispy fillo, tarta de Santiago, and lemon tart were all delicious, the cocktails were great too.Otra vez Gracias Juan.Ps: Chef … too much mashed potatoes 🥔
September 29 · O G SBefore moving to Houston, we lived in Southern France near the boarder of Spain. This restaurant was a welcome reminder of the amazing food and hospitality we.used to enjoy. As soon as I saw txakoli wine (a classic Basque region white wine which is very dry and slightly salty) on the wine list I knew we would be in for a treat. BCN did not disappoint. The food was absolutely incredible and lived up to the Michelin expectation. The service was impeccable with a lot of attention to detail. The staff were very knowledgeable and very friendly. Thank you for a great evening, I will definitely be coming back again.
September 13 · Scott ThackreyWe celebrated a birthday dinner at BCN and it was absolutely phenomenal. The food was exquisite — every course transported me back to my time living in Spain. The atmosphere was elegant, warm, and celebratory, making it the perfect setting for such a special evening.A heartfelt thank you to Pedro, Paco, and the entire BCN team for creating such an unforgettable dining experience. Truly one of the best in Houston!
September 26 · Geovanna Burgess WhiteI would give this place 6 stars out of 5 if I could! We booked a table of 12 in the private dining room for my wife’s 50th birthday! The service the food the drinks were all amazing. Was it expensive! Hell yes! But was it value for money absolutely! It will be a night we will long remember ! Well deserving of its Michelin star! We will certainly be back again for a romantic table for 2 sometime soon.
August 23 · Ralph turloffAs good as it gets in Houston. This restaurant was in the first wave of Michelin rated restaurants in the city. I have been here a few times now, and I am partial to the seafood, with the branzino being very high on my list of meals to recommend. Some of their dishes are quite simple, but the quality of the ingredients brings out the best in the offering . The service is spectacular, and the attention to detail is what you would expect from a five-star restaurant. It is important to note that this restaurant is expensive and is therefore most suitable for special occasions. If I have one very small complaint about the restaurant, the selection of wines by the glass is very limited, although what they offer is of high value and quality.
