For residents and visitors in the New Jersey area seeking a truly authentic taste of Northern Spain, specifically the Basque Country, Casa Vasca stands as a culinary landmark. Nestled in Newark's historically rich Ironbound section, this establishment has been a pillar of Spanish-Basque gastronomy since its founding in 1976 by Basque immigrant Juan Jose Aurre. Diners can anticipate a professional and friendly atmosphere, where the warmth of Basque hospitality is as memorable as the generous portions served. The restaurant offers a welcoming blend of casual, cozy, and romantic atmospheres, making it suitable for groups, locals, and tourists alike.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a gem! Great pulpo and croquetas de bacalao, really missed these. The bacalao al pil pil was really good too, and the portion was huge. Nice staff and great service, though the best thing was the people we met who recommended us all the good places to eat/shop in the neighborhood.
June 07 · Flavia Roxana ApetreiIt’s a good spot everyone was very friendly and the food was good. They also give an inordinate amount of food. I mean I don’t think I single person at our table finished their food. The ambience is nice and overall I like it.
July 23 · David Banu12/5 recommend this place! Incredibly polite and attentive staff, refilling drinks for you, wrapping your left overs for you, and making sure the food is perfect. Great seafood selection. Delicious homemade bread. Variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from (I enjoyed some Sangria). Best dinner experience in our trip to New York. Will be coming back again when in the area!
January 16 · Ariel CrowderThis place is a hidden gem! The service is the best I have ever experienced. This is real food cooked to order made with love. Don't panic when entering lol your view is of the bar. Once you go thru the magical door your jaw will drop from amazement at the cozy and beautiful dinning room. Dessert options are delish. There is something for everyone. Parking is on the side street. There is a lot and then you walk to the corner to enter the restaurant. You can smell the food from a block away.
December 21 · Renee SalesThis is the benchmark to delicious food and service. This is a authentic as it gets. The servers will make sure your every need is met. The owner is a sweet woman that treats everyone like family. Don’t come here because you will be spoiled and nothing will compare!
