April 26 · L KGBI really like Spanish food, but every time I go there, it's always an issue. I stopped going there 2 years ago because the staff is rude. They don't look happy to be there, so why would I think they're putting any love into their food? I don't speak Spanish, so when I try to order the food, they act like they don't understand me. My wife ordered 1/2 a pound of the chicharon's, I love those! Then they had this chicken that actually looked good. It was in a red sauce and didn't look as dry as the rice or the other baked chicken they had. I just wanted a platter of the chicken. I asked, "Can I get a container of that chicken?" The girl looked at me like I had 3 heads! I told her, "Just a container of that chicken!" So my wife interjected because she speaks Spanish, to tell her what I wanted. Apparently, just getting the chicken is taboo! In the past, they were better, but the staff's attitude sucks, and half of the time, the food is not that flavorful or dried out. That's why I stopped going there 2 years ago. Fast forward to this weekend, here I am again! I was disappointed with the service, again!! Never again will I attempt to try their food.
June 18 · Chester McCulloughHey my name is Staicy, i been coming to this place for about 1 years so far. I loved the staff and the food is the best place for Dominican food in allentown. I didn’t want to write this at first because I am not the type of person to leave bad reviews but what happened just made me dislike mangu a tiny bit. I went to mangu last Wednesday to take out for me and my kids. I was so happy during the whole day but when I got to mangu this lady served me, I don't know her name but she is a little short, light skin, and she has purple glasses. She was a little bit rude while she served my food, and she served it disgustingly. She was touching my food with her fingers while serving it in the to-go platters. She gave me attitude the whole time she was serving me. The thing that just broke the glass for me was when she kept questioning how I wanted my food. She kept asking “are you sure you want this?” In Spanish, And I was really trying to keep my cool. I was really disappointed by the service because every other time I go the service is amazing I love how the girls treat me and this was my first time getting served by her, and I was really disappointed. As I have said before I love Mangu restaurant is the best place but I don’t really know what is going on with these new girls but I just hope it changes because is really ruining the experience I been having for the past year.
July 27 · StaicyI work 8 minutes away from this restaurant and we frequently order out. The times we have ordered from Mangú, they get the order wrong or forget sauces for the empanadas and dressing for the salad, bring the wrong drink and this last time, it took them an hour and 15 min to deliver our order. We've decided to not order from them anymore!
August 10 · Liandrea TorresThe food is hit or miss. For a place called Mangu, it's not the best mangu I've ever had. The pernil has times where it's too salty or too fatty. I did not like the Mofongo, not enough garlic for my preference. So, kind of depending on the day and time of the day the food takes wild swings.Still, any time I've gone there it's packed with people so I guess people really like it. The prices are fair. I think they sell certain things by wait so when you buy, what you pay is a bit of a guessing game. I'll keep going back only until I find one better.
