Boqueria Flatiron Introduce
Located in the heart of one of Manhattan's most dynamic neighborhoods, Boqueria Flatiron is more than just a Spanish restaurant; it’s a premier Tapas bar and Wine bar that brings the vibrant energy and authentic flavors of Barcelona right to New York City. The establishment is inspired by the legendary *Mercado de la Boqueria* in Barcelona, embodying a lively, social dining concept centered around sharing small, exquisite plates and enjoying excellent Spanish wines and cocktails.
Boqueria has successfully created a space that is immediately welcoming yet undeniably energetic. The atmosphere is best described as Casual, Cozy, and Trendy, making it a favorite spot for various crowds, including Family-friendly gatherings, large Groups, and Solo dining excursions. It is notable for its inclusive ethos, proudly identifying as LGBTQ+ friendly and a Transgender safespace. The consistent quality in food and service ensures that both Locals and Tourists make it a frequent stop.
The menu is a comprehensive journey through Spanish culinary classics and contemporary favorites, emphasizing Small plates (tapas) perfect for a social meal. Favorites include the famously crispy and spicy Patatas Bravas ($13.50) and the highly recommended Croquetas Jamon ($9.00). Seafood is a specialty, with the Pulpo ($23.00) and the classic Boquerones (pickled white anchovies, $14.00) always standing out. One absolute must-try, repeatedly highlighted by patrons, is the signature Gambas al Ajillo (Garlic shrimp in olive oil, brandy, lobster reduction, and Guindilla pepper).
For a more substantial meal, the Paellas and Mains offer heartier options. The restaurant is renowned for its signature rice dishes, including the lavish Seafood Paella ($49.50, Medium) and the indulgent Short Rib Paella ($48.50). A friendly warning, which is consistent with authentic Spanish preparation: Paella takes 45 minutes to cook, meaning it’s best ordered immediately or enjoyed after an assortment of tapas. The menu also caters thoughtfully to all dietary needs with ample Vegetarian options and Vegan options, including a dedicated Vegetable Paella ($38.00, Medium) and numerous meatless tapas like Pan Con Tomate ($8.00) and Pimientos De Padron ($9.50).
To finish the experience, the dessert menu offers classics like the rich Tarta Vasca Chocolate ($12.00), and of course, the traditional Spanish fried dough, *churros*, served with thick chocolate.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The food was delicious although everything took way longer than anticipated and portions of tapas were quite small. It does mean it was fresh but just don’t come here when in a rush because the paella took 45 mins and the churros 15/20 from the time we ordered. The service was very attentive, however the place was really loud, and towards the end of our service the restaurant wasn’t packed anymore but still loud.
September 29 · Camila BousquetBoqueria never disappoints. It’s the kind of place is consistent in food and service. Tonight was no exception. We were served by the wonderful Wendy who recognized us from a previous visit and made us feel welcome. Usually we opt for an assortment of our favorite tapas, however since it was our anniversary and we were feeling adventurous we went for the Chef’s Menu. The food was delicious and it was a nice departure from our usual menu. Highly recommend the Patatas Bravas, the Gambas al Ajillo, Brussels sprouts and the seafood paella. Sangria is always good but the cocktails can be better. Highly recommend visiting.
June 18 · KayroseOrdered an assortment of their scrumptious dishes. A charcuterie board with nice cheeses and hams, Croquetas de setas, tortilla espanola, and a mariscos paella. There were also a few more dishes not photographed such as the brussel sprouts and a carne dish. The Charcuterie board consisted of aged manchego, jamon serrano, and one other pork I can’t recall. With the bread, each of these items carried a deep, distinct flavor profile. The corquetas de setas were mushroom croquettes that were a delicate and light appetizer. The tortilla espanola also felt very light for such a dense appearing dish consisting of eggs and potatoes, it’s a magnificent quiche-like masterpiece. The mariscos paella was a very delicious blend of seafood flavor absorbed into the loose rice. The paella was certainly a delicious must order item here. Location is on a quiet street and there is a steady flow of groups here to eat. The interior ambiance is sophisticated with elements of European inspiration from the hanging meats, the choice of colors and the cozy lighting. Service was attentive, fast, and very engaging when we needed them. Overall, great upper experience for a group.
August 26 · Kevin ChenThe food was pretty good, for me it was a hit or miss. The environment was pretty loud, but it’s probably because of the small space. Would definitely recommend Croquetas De Setas, Gambas Al Ajilli, and Forget-Me-Not (Drink). The Dátiles Con Beicon is pretty good, if you like blue cheese. Personally I don’t like the after taste. Overall, pretty good and definitely worth a try and make reservations, it gets busy!
April 05 · Tater TotsExcellent lunch menus with reasonable prices for its location. We had Caesar salad, which was super delicious! Both Mushroom and Serrano Croquettes were terrific, as always. I think they serve the best Croquette in town. We ordered Bikini grilled cheese for the first and had to order another one because they were so good and crispy but not greasy. Both paellas were quite lovely, but my standard for paella is typically high, so this might not be the most delicious paella in NYC! I keep coming back to this place and always recommend it to friends who visit the city.
