Boqueria Soho Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking a genuine taste of Spain right in the heart of Downtown Manhattan, Boqueria Soho stands out as a vibrant and highly-regarded destination. Drawing its inspiration from the famous 'La Boqueria' market in Barcelona, this Spanish restaurant and tapas bar offers a lively atmosphere paired with an authentic and diverse menu of classic Spanish fare. It provides a culinary escape, transporting patrons to the bustling streets of Spain with its commitment to fresh, quality ingredients and flavorful, traditional cooking.
Boqueria Soho is not just a place to eat; it's an experience. The interior design and energetic ambiance are often praised for creating a cozy, trendy, and even romantic environment that mirrors a bustling Spanish eatery. Whether you're looking for an intimate dinner, a celebratory gathering, or a solo dining experience, Boqueria Soho offers an inviting space that is popular among locals, groups, and tourists alike. The focus here is on shared plates—the heart of the tapas tradition—encouraging conversation and a communal dining style, perfectly complemented by their selection of great cocktails and an extensive wine list featuring Spanish varietals.
The menu is meticulously curated to feature Spanish classics and market-driven seasonal specials. Guests can begin their journey with a selection from the Cheese and Charcuterie section, perhaps a plate of aged Jamon Serrano or a customizable Tabla De Tres (Pick 3) or Tabla De Seis (Pick 6) featuring various cured meats and cheeses. The tapas offerings are the restaurant's staple, including favorites like the crispy Patatas Bravas with salsa brava, the simple yet essential Pan Con Tomate (toasted bread rubbed with tomato and garlic), or the rich, creamy Croquetas, available with either mushroom (Setas) or ham (Jamon). Seafood lovers rave about the flavorful Gambas al Ajillo (shrimp with sizzling garlic and olive oil), while other small plates like Datiles (bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with almonds and blue cheese) or Pimientos De Padron (blistered Shishito peppers) offer delightful variety.
Beyond the small plates, Boqueria Soho excels in larger main courses perfect for sharing, most notably their Paellas. Patrons can indulge in the signature Seafood Paella - Medium (serves 2) which features Bomba rice, monkfish, sepia, squid, shrimp, clams, and mussels with saffron, or opt for the vegetarian-friendly Vegetable Paella - Medium. Other satisfying mains include the Carne A La Parilla (Seared Outside Skirt steak) and Half or Whole Roasted Chicken. Be advised that the Paellas are typically made to order and can take around 45 minutes to prepare, but the authentic taste is well worth the wait. The meal is often capped off with a Spanish dessert staple like the classic Churros Clásicos, served with a choice of chocolate, Nutella, or Dulce de Leche, or the rich Tarta Vasca Chocolate (Basque cheesecake).
Boqueria Soho is conveniently nestled in the lively and fashionable Soho neighborhood, an area known for its art galleries, high-end boutiques, and vibrant street life. Its location makes it an ideal spot for a meal before gallery hopping, after a shopping trip, or simply as the main event for a date night in Downtown Manhattan.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great ambiance and we sat on the patio, ordered the white sangria pitcher (amazing, tastes like juice but is indeed not juice). We got 6 things between me and my boyfriend (both eat a lot) and we were extremely full. highlights of what we got were the Gambas al Ajillo, 10/10, Patatas bravas also 10/10, great to pear with whatever meat/seafood you get. Also the Croquetas de Setas were amazing and the Montado de Bistec y Chorizo was perfection. Would recommend this place for a date night or girls night. 6 things + the pitcher was ~160 before tip so its pricey but can be made more affordable as most items are $14-$16.
October 05 · VANESSA ZAPATAThe ambiance inside of Boqueria makes you believe you are actually in Spain. We had calamari, croquettes, shrimps in garlic sauce, and Paella. All this with sangria. The chef is definitely an expert, and the staff is very friendly. Will not hesitate to visit them again!
August 27 · Oleg PolonskyI visited this restaurant with a friend and the overall experience was average. The ambiance was pleasant , but we faced an issue upon arrival. Although we had a reservation for 8 PM, the host asked us to wait and we ended up waiting around 15 minutes, which was inconvenient considering the reservation. As for the food, it was okay not bad, but nothing special. Some dishes were decent, while others were quite plain and didn’t stand out. The service once seated was good, but overall, I expected a bit more based on the reviews I had seen.I might consider giving it another try in the future, but with more realistic expectations.
June 09 · Mario MI got off work and was craving a good drink and meat and cheese board. I stumbled upon this place very randomly. Quickly was sad and got a seat at the bar. I was planning to stay forJust one drink and charcuterie but I ended up having a whole mealFood - I got cheese and meat while I waited and it was all good. However u can tell it’s not enough bread right when they dropped it off and I asked thay moment for more - they took quite a whileTo provide the bread tho.We got the more expensive option of the chefs choice shortly after - I knew this was gonna be too much food but I couldn’t help myself. It started with a cheap salad which was fine (is this really a chef choice). All appetizers and tapas were excellent. The croquet and expensive jamon shined but all tasted great. Patatos were amazing tooWe got the meat paella (against my choice) cus my partner doesn’t like fish. It was fine. It was my least favorite of all the dishes served. Was sad to see the garlic shrimp wasn’t served with the chef choice cus it’s one of the best dishes in Spain. And also saw a lot of people order some bread dish.My partner is a huge dessert person and sadly the churros were undercooked and we didn’t even finish them. Sad way to end the meal.Overall a great experience. The blue cheese olives were amazing too
September 08 · Jack TuggleFood was great but my waiter looked like he was very unhappy with 20% tip. How much I’m supposed to tip???? After I paid and asked for my dessert to go he literally just left my dessert at the next table with no bag and he was def not gentle or nice AT ALL when he put it down. at that point i swear i wanted my money (tip) back.
